Matisse e Michelangelo: l’incontro di due grandi artisti sedotti dalla forma.

Il più enigmatico degli artisti moderni trova nell’opera di Michelangelo la conferma alle sue scelte più rivoluzionarie: la ricerca sul colore, sul rapporto tra linea e volume, tra scultura e pittura. Riecheggiano, in Matisse, gli stessi interrogativi che avevano determinato l'arte di Michelangelo, inducendolo a definire nelle gouaches découpées una nuova forma di estrema sintesi, a tutt’oggi insuperata, tra scultura e colore. Oltre 150 opere del maestro francese declineranno, attraverso un itinerario tra pittura, scultura, disegno, litografia e grandi libri d'arte, il percorso di Matisse verso l'essenza della forma. Da sabato 25 giugno 2011 il sito seriale “I Longobardi in Italia. I luoghi del potere (568-774 d.C.)” è nella Lista del Patrimonio Mondiale
dell’UNESCO.
Per l’Italia si tratta del 46° sito iscritto nella celebre Lista. Con questa iscrizione l’Italia consolida la sua posizione di primato nella Lista del
Patrimonio Mondiale. Il sito seriale “I Longobardi in Italia. I luoghi del potere (568-774 d.C.)” comprende le più importanti testimonianze monumentali Longobarde esistenti sul territorio italiano, che si situano dal nord al sud della penisola, laddove si estendevano i domini dei più importanti Ducati Longobardi che formarono quella che possiamo definire la prima “nazione” italiana.

007 Quantum of Solace on Lake Garda

The towns on the shores of Lake Garda, Gargnano, Tremosine, Limone sul Garda, Torbole sul Garda and Malcesine, set the stage for a number of scenes in the new 007 film “Quantum of Solace”. This April, the road starting from the western “Gardesana” State road and snaking north to Tremosine (the “forra” or gorge called the “eighth wonder of the world” by Winston Churchill), the road linking the port of Tremosine with Limone sul Garda, the Gargnano tunnel and a section of the road between Tempesta Cape and Malcesine,were used for chase scenes starring James Bond’s famous Aston Martin.

Sarà il celebre cantautore americano James Taylor, il prossimo 14 marzo alle ore 21.00, a inaugurare la rosa dei nomi degli artisti internazionali ospiti della prossima edizione della kermesse in un concerto – evento che sarà una vera e propria anteprima del Festival.
Location d’eccezione: il Teatro Grande di Brescia. Un connubio culturale, quello tra il Teatro del Vittoriale e la città di Brescia, auspicato più volte e in parte già annunciato dalla Direzione del Festival nella prospettiva di creare, a partire da quest’ anno, grazie anche ai risultati ottenuti, un ponte ideale tra il lago di Garda e la città, in virtù di un cartellone di eventi di alto profilo che richiamino sempre più, nel nome del Festival Vittoriale tener-a-mente, non solo spettatori da tutta Italia, ma anche dall’estero, come è avvenuto per questa estate 2011.
Il Teatro del Vittoriale può ambire ad avere una vita non soltanto estiva; in attesa degli adeguamenti dei locali interni che contiamo di mettere in atto il prima possibile per poter garantire una vera e propria stagione invernale per il 2012-2013, ci saranno un paio di anticipazioni primaverili organizzate a marchio “Vittoriale tener-a-mente”, ma ambientate in città, e in particolare nel bellissimo scenario del Teatro Grande di Brescia

Since November 19th 2005 a new jewel can be discovered in Gardone Riviera - the museum of Hiky Mayr, an art collector of German origin, who for over 35 years has been dedicating her life to the search, collection and restoration of sculptures representing Baby Jesus. The museum is located at a distance of only 500 meters from the “Vittoriale”, therefore it is easily possible to combine two very different and highly interesting visits to two museums.

The Island is situated on the Brescian side of Lake Garda, a short distance from San Felice del Benaco and it has been the expression of mysticism for centuries (St.Francis of Assisi founded a small community). Today it owes its fascination to the extraordinary Venetian neo-Gothic style villa, designed by the architect Luigi Rovelli at the beginning of the 20^th century; an imposing harmonious building, rich in surprising architectonic details. The 3rd International Lake Garda Marathon will be held on the 27th September 2009
Thanks to the beneficial lake effect, the climate is mild, even in winter, and ideal for a relaxing vacation full of wellbeing. The Alto Garda area is famous for its almost Mediterranean climate and mild temperatures, even in the winter. While summer is perfect for athletes (especially windsurfing, sailing, climbing and mountain biking), winter is ideal for a relaxing vacation, immersed in the truly unique atmosphere created by the many lakes in the area. The “Centomiglia” (100 Miles) Regatta on Lake Garda> · [ video ]

Every year during the first weekend of September the best known sailing regatta on Lake Garda, the Centomiglia (100 miles), takes place in Bogliaco. This is a unique spectacle which is well worth a trip.
Everybody knows the ideal conditions of the wind, typical of Garda lake. The waters of the lake do not welcome by accident prestigious sailing races; competitions of international importance, such as the Centomiglia boat race. A sail on the Garda lake is afterwards a privilege too: a sensational view is disclosed to both the capable yachtsman and the neophyte.
